Wouldn’t it be fun to have some kind of international M*A*S*H fan selfie day?

You know, just one day we decide like a few days in advance (not long enough for anyone to forget about it lol) and then all the M*A*S*H fans on Tumblr that want to will upload their selfies so we can all get a stronger sense of who the other people in our fandom are? :) What do you think?

Just saw this and I think it’s a great idea! We should totally do this guys!

modelofdisaster sent: I actually felt bad for the actor, Larry Linville. I heard that it became really hard to continue playing the character simply because he was "hated" by the other characters and was so often the butt of all the jokes. There's something endearing about Frank, though I couldn't tell you exactly what that is. He's no Winchester, though in many ways Winchester is no Frank (see what I did there?! Lol). Whelp, those are my two cents. :-D

Aww I didn’t know that about Larry Linville, that is a shame, I never thought about it in that way!

Absolutely! Frank and Charles were both so different, and I’m so glad we got to have both of them on the show!

Thanks for your message!x

Anonymous sent: First off, I love this blog. You make the confessions look so nice and pretty! It's nice to have something like this- especially for a fandom as small as ours. Secondly, how do you feel about Frank? I've been feeling a bit conflicted about him lately, 'cause I see confessions saying stuff like 'I feel bad for Frank' or 'Frank was (insert opinion here' and stuff, and I can kinda see what they're saying. I do feel bad for him sometimes, but at other times, his stupidity is more of a comic relief.

Aw, thank you so much!<3 :) I’m really glad you think so, especially since the show is so old, it means the quality of the caps are quite bad, and it’s often really difficult to get them to look nice, so I always feel like they’re horrible looking haha!
And yeah, our fandom’s pretty small, but it’s one of the best IMO.

Personally, I love Frank. Yes, he’s a hypocrite, he’s a coward, he’s immature, power hungry and in general just a bit of a shit, but that’s who he is and that’s why I love to hate him.
Usually, the bad things that he does/says are portrayed in a comical way, so I think you’re just supposed to take him lightly. I totally agree that he’s there for a bit of comical relief, which would suggest that you’re not supposed to hate him necessarily. Even the characters in the show don’t hate him I don’t think. They just sort of accept who he is and that he’ll never change. (All the while making fun of him and getting one over on him generally).

I totally get what you mean about conflicting opinions ‘cause yeah, he’s just not a nice guy. But he’s still hilarious (a testament to Larry Linville’s superb acting?), especially when he’s being stupid/naive/pathetic. I do feel sorry for him though, definitely. A lot of the time people tend clutch at straws to find reasons to feel sympathy for the ‘villain,’ even if it’s not justified, but I think in Frank’s case it is. When you see or hear about the way he was treated by pretty much everyone in his life - his parents, his wife… - I really do feel bad for him. And to me the thing that proves that he could have been a nicer guy is when we see the rare moments in which he is treated with a bit of kindness and respect - for example the episode where Hawk and Beej deliberately try to be nice to him. His personality totally flips almost immediately and he’s just so grateful to think that someone, anyone, actually likes him, to the point where he becomes almost one of the guys. He tries so hard to fit in and ‘belong’ somewhere. I find it sad really. So yeah, I think he’s definitely a sympathetic character, although he usually does something really horrible straight after which just makes you hate him again! :P

I’m so sorry, I totally didn’t mean to make this into an essay, but yeah, basically I love Frank. He’s a great character who I can’t help but have a soft spot for, and I don’t think the show would have been the same without him.

What about you, what do you think about him?

In fact, I’ll open this up to everyone! What do you guys think about Frank? Submit your opinions and I’ll publish them? :)

And thanks for the question;D x

Anonymous sent: I don't have anything to confess, I just really wanted to say I love this blog. Finally, I find someone else who posts about the show! I watch reruns every night, it's just a routine I have to do. None of my friends know what it is, and when I try to explain it, they grow bored and change the subject. At least someone else out there posts M*A*S*H :D

Trust me, I know the feeling. I don’t have anyone to share my love with either. Glad you like the blog, and thank you!x
